Best Gluten Free Air Fryer Paprika Chicken Fillets Recipe.
Happy New Year! 😊
And just like that 2024 is over and 2025 has begun. Whilst the year has changed, the season has not, and I am still frozen solid all the time from the cold.
As I said in my previous post, my mind is on creating warm and homey recipes right now.
For my first post of the New Year, I have decided to share my Best Gluten Free Air Fryer Paprika Chicken Fillets Recipe. When making paprika chicken, I like to make some brown rice alongside it, which I have incorporated into the recipe.
This recipe is fairly quick, being only 25 minutes long, and is ideal for both a lunch and dinner. I hope you enjoy!!! 😊😊

Stage 1 – Making the Paprika Paste
- Add the paprika, ginger, black pepper and sea salt into a bowl and mix the ingredients together.

- Add the last 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the air fryer.
- Transfer each of the coated chicken fillets into the air fryer.

Tips and Tricks
- I tend to fork the raw chicken fillets before coating them in the paprika paste to maximise the coverage of the paste over the chicken. This also makes it easier for the paste to stick to the chicken fillets for the full duration that they are in the air fryer.
- It is of course up to you whether to substitute, switch and add any herb and spice you desire. Whilst the paprika is the main spice in this recipe, I really feel that the black pepper, ginger root ground and pinch of ground parsley also enhance the flavour of the chicken. However, if you are not a fan of any of these spices or herbs, feel free to leave them out or swap them out for others like chives or oregano. Alternatively, if you want to heat the recipe up by adding chilli, this would really complement the paprika and the chicken in general.
- This recipe would still work well if you swapped the chicken for a different meat, particularly turkey, or a meat substitute.
Extra Tips and Tricks
- If you would prefer to use another type of oil (like coconut oil or sunflower oil) or a fat like butter, then that would be fine to do though you may need to slightly alter the measurements.
- It is up to you whether you want to add any extra sauces. Personally, I never feel the need to add any sauces when I have applied my paprika paste, though you can certainly add them if you feel like it.
- Again, you can also use a different type of rice if you want. What rice you use, really comes down to availability and your own opinion.
- You can season the rice, but I tend to like the rice plain to make the flavour of the paprika chicken stand out more.
- If you would prefer for the paste not to be salted, then feel free not to add the salt.
To Add a Pinch of Parsley or to Not Add a Pinch of Parsley, That is the Question….
I personally like to add a pinch of parsley to make this dish more colourful and green. However, if you do not partial to parsley or just don’t have it in the cupboard, the extra pinch of parsley will not make much of a difference.
Storage
- These paprika chicken fillets can be left in the fridge for up to 1-2 days and frozen for up to 2-3 months if properly stored.
- To properly freeze and store in the fridge, these chicken fillets must be put in an air-tight container.
- Additionally, this is just guidance. So, if it looks a bit dodgy, you don’t like the look of it or if it has been out for a while, then unfortunately, I think that is one for the bin. When it comes to cooking and baking a bit of common sense will go a long way, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Additionally, when storing always use an air-tight container otherwise these times do not apply.

P.S. This recipe is designed for 1-2 servings depending on how hungry you are. Provided that you have the space in your air fryer, you can always double up the measurements to double the servings for example. It really is dependent on what suits you best. 😊
