Dorset is known for its wonderful coastline as well as its amazing wildlife making it the ideal destination for a family holiday. Here, I have listed out different regions of Dorset. In these lists, I mention restaurants that advertise gluten-free options on their websites. Some of these restaurants are dog-friendly as well!

All of the establishments listed here advertise gluten free options to the best of my knowledge. This may be subject to changes. Most of these places on this list have mixed kitchens that also handle gluten, so always keep this in mind when dining at these places. I have starred all the places, where I have personally visited.

Even if something is listed as gluten free on a menu, I always let my server know that I am coeliac and require my meal to be gluten free, which I would always recommend as it has definitely saved me from being glutened in the past.

* Rockfish
A great place to go if you are gluten free and a seafood lover, like I am! The chain is a GF accredited venue by Coeliac UK. They advertise that the entire menu can be made totally gluten free on request. I first visited in 2023, and was really excited by the amount of choice I had. I also really liked their fries. I went back in 2024, and the food was just as good, though I was a bit disappointed that they no longer serve fries. There are still loads of sides to choose from though, including Unlimited chips.
Despite the lack of fries 🙁, they do offer a good range of sides (for example chips, new potatoes etc.) so there is still a lot of choice. It takes dogs and there are communal dog water bowls by the entrance. Overall, I still am a big fan of Rockfish because of the high-quality of the seafood on offer.

* Lazy Jacks
They provide some gluten free options. They can offer gluten free pizzas, salads (which can also be made vegan) on request as well as fish and chips. They also offer some gluten free desserts like a brownie with ice cream. The menu is a little limited, but overall I did enjoy the food. Dogs are allowed too, which is a bonus.
* Rick Stein
A posh restaurant in a posh area. It is certainly a pricey meal, but it was nice and they can certainly accommodate for us gluten free VIPs. I like the fact that dogs are allowed in the bar area, which is quite spacious and airy. The restaurant’s location also helps. It is in close proximity to the seafront therefore you can expect ocean views if you dine in the restaurant.
