Easy Vegan Gluten Free Easter Nests To Make With Family.

Easter is an amazing time to spend with your loved ones be that family, friends or both!

So this week I decided to do an old classic recipe that I am pretty sure that everyone has made at least once, not only because they are so delicious, but also because they are so easy and fun to make.

The recipe this week is using the classic melted chocolate + cornflakes combination but the fun is not only in the tasting and making them but also the decoration, as you have already seen by the image above you can make really cute little Easter Nests using melted chocolate and cornflakes.

The recipe this week is not complex at all, if anything it is more of a reminder of what you can make this Easter! As it is such a quick, low maintenance, easy no-bake recipe this is a perfect activity to do with the kids over the Easter break or just to make for yourself as it is just that delicious. I can’t lie sometimes it is these simple dishes that are the best of them all!

Just to state also that this dessert is gluten free and vegan but that is only because I specifically bought gluten free and vegan chocolate and gluten free and vegan cornflakes, so just make sure that when you are purchasing the ingredients you double check to make sure that they are definitely both gluten free and vegan.

I hope that you have an amazing Easter and if you do decide to give this recipe a try, I hope it is not only delicious but extremely fun to make!

Also I just wanted to say that this recipe is gluten free, vegan, easy, under 15 minute and is a no bake recipe!

Happy Easter!!!🐣πŸ₯🐣πŸ₯🐣

Tips & Tricks

Why do you use so much chocolate in the recipe in comparison to cornflakes?

  • Well, I know that this recipe requires more chocolate to be melted than even the cornflakes however this is for 3 reasons:
    • (1) In order to get an even coating of the gluten free vegan chocolate onto the gluten free vegan cornflakes, a bit more chocolate is required than cornflakes.
    • (2) When melting the chocolate, not all the chocolate will be transferred some of the chocolate will get stuck at the bottom of the bowl no matter how much you stir, so due to this a bit more chocolate will be required to compensate for that slight loss.
    • (3) I just love chocolate, if anything I actually would use more chocolate than stated in the recipe as you want it nice and chocolatey. However, I recognise that not everyone has the same tastes as me, so to each to their own!
  • However if this is too much chocolate for you, feel free to use less, or add the chocolate in batches/ increments so that you are not using too much but just right!

Decorations

  • One of my favourite things I did as a child around Easter was making Easter bonnets with my family, and what was so fun about making these Easter bonnets was that I got to decorate them however I liked. So same applies here, think of my decorations as a guide but do whatever you want. My favourite part about recipes like this is that they are all a bit of fun, so make sure to enjoy yourself! Happy Easter!🐣πŸ₯🐣

Be ware of putting it in the fridge for too long

  • In the recipe I mentioned that to speed up the process of cooling and hardening the Easter Nests you can put it in the fridge if you like, however, make sure not to put the Easter Nests in the fridge for too long as they will then become too cold and too hard where it is not that fun to eat. You want to make sure that you get it in that goldilocks zone, of room temperature where the melted chocolate has had time to harden and so the treats are crunchy not frozen solid!❄️

If you need to make more feel free to double the recipe

  • This is a great quick and easy to make snack food for an easter themed party or, a party in general if you remove the easter decorations
