The Best Quick Banana Smoothie To Try This Summer.
Intro
Summer Summer Summer
Summer is just the best and one of the best ways to enjoy summer is sitting down and having a nice cool drink. Today I have decided to share with you one of my most refreshing smoothie recipes that I have in my arsenal. It is a banana smoothie that has mango, vanilla yoghurt and coconut water in it.
For this recipe I used frozen mango because my local store sells it and so I don’t have to deal with the headache of chopping it up and freezing it myself and also because it is delicious. The banana is not frozen in this recipe because my local store does not sell frozen banana, annoyingly, and so I just chopped a banana and added it unfrozen. But if you would like to freeze the banana yourself, or if you are lucky enough to have a store that sells frozen banana and can do the heavy lifting for you (my favourite), be sure to do so. I always try to promote using frozen fruit rather than adding ice to a smoothie because I just don’t like a watered down smoothie, however if adding ice is easier for you, be my guest.

Tips and Tricks
Eyeballing the measurements
- In the equipment list I didn’t add a scale to the list because, whilst for this recipe I have used specific measurements as a guide for anyone who wants to follow the recipe, I do change the recipe all the time depending on whether I want a thicker smoothie (so less yoghurt and less coconut water with more banana or mango) or if I want a thinner/ runnier smoothie (so more yoghurt and more coconut water with less mango or banana)

Make sure to add the coconut water and the yoghurt last
- This tip really depends on the machine that you are using, as you can see from the picture I am using a nutribullet which means that when I add my ingredients eventually everything will be turned upside down. So, by adding the coconut water in last it allows for the juice to not potentially get trapped in the bottom of the machine
- This tip doesn’t really apply if you have got a normal blender (however, maybe it does as I have not used a normal blender for this recipe so who knows😉🤷♀️
Changing the recipe to what suits you
- I know I say it all of the time in my recipes, but I really do mean it when I say that this recipe is just a guide. If you don’t like certain things, or you want to adapt it to suit you, then go on ahead! I think that is one of the best parts about cooking and making food in general, you are really just creating what suits you. There will 100% be hiccups along the way where you make a creation that is a bit dodgy, but it will really just bring you one step closer to a go to recipe that you absolutely love, so make sure to be creative!
Decorations
- I didn’t add anything on top of my smoothie, because (1) I think that smoothies by themselves are a really good stand alone thing and (2) I meant for this recipe to be a go to drink for everyday life (e.g. a breakfast smoothie or a healthy snack). But if you really want to spice up this recipe and add loads of toppings then be sure to add as many as you want. Some suggestions: having some fresh fruit on the side, or you could always convert this recipe into the base of a smoothie bowl and then add granola and nuts to said bowl!
This tips and tricks section is really just about encouraging you Gluten Free VIPs to not be afraid to make this recipe your own and tailored to you and your tastes! Feel free to be fun and adventurous with your cooking! Enjoy!😊😊😊
