How To Make a Cherry, Strawberry Gluten-Free, Vegan Smoothie.

Hiya guys. This week I am back sharing another gluten-free, vegan recipe! Similar to the vegan milkshake that I made last time, this week’s recipe is also a drinks recipe and perfect to make when you are short on time and just want to cool down!!! Hence why I am sharing my How To Make a Cherry, Strawberry Gluten-Free, Vegan Smoothie recipe.

As this recipe includes two of the Five a Day (cherries and strawberries), it is both a healthy and naturally delicious sweet treat!

What I love about smoothies is that they are just so easy to make. This recipe only requires 3 ingredients and is quickly make up in a blender. This makes the recipe perfect to make as a refreshing breakfast or snack to revitalise your day. When the weather is hot, a nice, cold smoothie can make all the difference!

This recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan, so it can accommodate a variety of diets. I would class this recipe as 1 serving. The great thing about this recipe is that because it is so quick, you can make multiple servings in a minutes if you looking to make more than one smoothie at a time.

Tips and Tricks

  • I use a nutribullet as a blender, but feel free to use whatever brand of blender that you have available to you. You can use a food processor as well if you don’t have a blender, but I would say that a blender is the ideal equipment to use. (Disclaimer: everything shown in this article I bought myself, my thoughts and opinions are my own and this is not an advertisement just my honest opinion. Please buy things at your own discretion.)
  • If you want to use different decorations/ add additional toppings then feel free to do so. To make the smoothie more luxurious, you can decorate the smoothie with chocolate strawberries.
  • If you don’t mind that the smoothie is not vegan, you can decorate the top with whipped cream. You can add a strawberry sauce on top or sprinkle hundreds and thousands, the sky really is the limit when it comes to decorating!!! πŸͺ‚
  • For me, the beauty in this recipe is that it only contains 3 ingredients and is simple. However, if you want to add extra ingredients, especially other fruit like a banana, then that’s fine too! πŸ’πŸ“πŸŒ
  • If you want to add chocolate chips to the recipe, again you do so if it works best for you and your taste.
  • My recipe uses cherry juice as I like the flavour combination of cherries and strawberries. I like that cherry juice is a slightly more tart than strawberry juice as it prevents the smoothie from tasting too sweet. However, if you would prefer to use strawberry juice and want to maximise the strawberry flavour, then that is always an option to consider.
  • If you don’t want to use a straw (paper or otherwise), then this is really based on your preference.

Vanilla Yoghurt vs Plain Yoghurt

I always use a yoghurt as a thickener when making a smoothie because it is smooth and delicious. Personally, I like to use vanilla yoghurt when making a fruit smoothie as I think that vanilla really complements the sweet flavour. However, as I say whenever vanilla is involved whether it is used as vanilla extract in baking or in yoghurt (in this case), it is up to you whether you want to include it. You can always use plain yoghurt (or alternatively another type of yoghurt of your choice) instead of vanilla yoghurt if you prefer it/ it is more convenient.
