How To Make A Gluten-Free Vegan Orange Smoothie.
Intro
Summer is the time of the smoothie. So this summer I am trying to be creative and get as many colourful smoothies as I can. A lot of the smoothies I have written about and posted on this blog have been pink, and to be fair it makes sense. Strawberries, raspberries, cherries…and the list goes on all will help to make a beautiful and scrumptious pink smoothie. So now, whilst it goes against every fibre of my being (as a strawberry lover), it is my personal mission to not make a pink smoothie but any other colour. I have been very good so far being that the last couple of blog posts I have posted a yellow banana smoothie (The Best Quick Banana Smoothie To Try This Summer) & a green smoothie (The Best Gluten-Free Vegan Green Smoothie That Is Shockingly Simple). This week I am posting my orange smoothie recipe.
Whilst I do love all of the fruits that result in a pink smoothie, I am also a big fan of everything orange (love the vitamin A!). And so I hope you will give my orange smoothie recipe a go and enjoy it!

Tips and Tricks
If you hate pulp there are 2 solutions for you:
- In the instance that you are not a pulp lover you really have 2 options with this recipe as it does contain orange slices so there is going to be pulp.
- (1) The first choice is to use the exact same recipe as above and sieve out the pulp
- (2) The second choice is to use a slightly tweaked recipe:
- 125ml (no pulp) orange juice
- 100g mango
- 1 large carrot
Eyeballing the measurements
- In the equipment list I didn’t add a scale to the list because, whilst for this recipe I have used specific measurements as a guide for anyone who wants to follow the recipe, I do change the recipe all the time depending on whether I want a thicker smoothie (so less yoghurt and less coconut water with more carrot or mango) or if I want a thinner/ runnier smoothie (so more yoghurt and more coconut water with less mango or carrot)

Make sure to add the coconut water and the yoghurt last
- This tip really depends on the machine that you are using, as you can see from the picture I am using a nutribullet which means that when I add my ingredients eventually everything will be turned upside down. So, by adding the coconut water in last it allows for the juice to not potentially get trapped in the bottom of the machine
- This tip doesn’t really apply if you have got a normal blender (however, maybe it does as I have not used a normal blender for this recipe so who knows😉🤷♀️
Changing the recipe to what suits you
- I know I say it all of the time in my recipes, but I really do mean it when I say that this recipe is just a guide. If you don’t like certain things, or you want to adapt it to suit you, then go on ahead! I think that is one of the best parts about cooking and making food in general, you are really just creating what suits you. There will 100% be hiccups along the way where you make a creation that is a bit dodgy, but it will really just bring you one step closer to a go to recipe that you absolutely love, so make sure to be creative!
Decorations
- I didn’t add anything on top of my smoothie, because (1) I think that smoothies by themselves are a really good stand alone thing and (2) I meant for this recipe to be a go to drink for everyday life (e.g. a breakfast smoothie or a healthy snack). But if you really want to spice up this recipe and add loads of toppings then be sure to add as many as you want. Some suggestions: having some fresh fruit on the side, or you could always convert this recipe into the base of a smoothie bowl and then add granola and nuts to said bowl!
This tips and tricks section is really just about encouraging you Gluten Free VIPs to not be afraid to make this recipe your own and tailored to you and your tastes! Feel free to be fun and adventurous with your cooking! Enjoy!😊😊😊
