Intro

A new week, new GlutenFreeVIPs.com content! For this week’s post, I am sharing my The Best Ever Gluten-Free, Vegan, Easy Strawberry Parfait Recipe.

My gluten-free parfait recipe is easy-to-make and takes 5 minutes tops to make. It is a no-bake, yoghurt parfait making it perfect to eat in the hot weather. I like to make myself this yoghurt parfait as a breakfast in the summer months, so I can personally attest that it is delicious.

Like in my smoothie recipe, this recipe also includes two of the Five a Day making it a good source of Vitamin C. Any sweet food with a nutrient value is seen as a winner in my eyes! The recipe is also dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan.

This recipe is really low-fuss. It requires little equipment and only 4 ingredients. It makes 1 serving. Though, as the preparation is so quick, you can always make a few parfaits in quick succession if you want to make multiple servings.

Enjoy the parfait!!! 😊😊😊

Tips and Tricks

  • A yoghurt parfait is typically made using granola. However, I am sure that you could use gluten-free cereal instead, especially if you are making the parfait for breakfast.
  • I like to use a vegan yoghurt as I am slightly lactose-intolerant. If you prefer to use a dairy yoghurt as you don’t care about the parfait being vegan then by all means do so.
  • Feel free to use whatever brands of products that you prefer. The products, which I have used, suit my palette, but I am sure that other brands are just as good. (Disclaimer: everything shown in this article I bought myself, my thoughts and opinions are my own and this is not an advertisement just my honest opinion. Please buy things at your own discretion.)
  • My recipe uses banana pieces and strawberries. If you don’t like these fruits, feel free to substitute them for any type of fruit. Blueberries, cherries, kiwi, mango… there are a so many options to choose from.
  • Toppings can always be added to the parfait if you want them. I personally like to leave my parfait as it is because I tend to make parfaits mostly for breakfast. However, if you want to make a really luxurious, indulgent parfait with sprinkles, say, go for it!!!
  • You can add a sauce, for example a berry sauce, to the parfait if you fancy.
  • Some people like to add honey or golden syrup to their parfait. If this is you, then feel free to add it.
  • Chocolate chips can be added to the parfait if you want them.
  • Some people enjoy adding a pinch of salt to sweet foods. Again, if this applies to you and your tastes, go for it!!!

Vanilla Yoghurt or Plain Yoghurt?

As I say in a lot of my blog posts, vanilla is one of my favourite flavours. I feel that vanilla works well in so many sweet treats. For me, a yoghurt parfait is no exception! The vanilla yoghurt complements the flavours of banana, the strawberries and granola. However, if you would rather use a plain yoghurt, that’s up to you. I know some people like using plain yoghurt to tone down the sweetness a bit, which is absolutely fine. Alternatively, you could use a different type of flavoured yoghurt, like strawberry yoghurt, for example.

Gluten-free, vegan strawberry parfait layered in a glass with dairy-free yoghurt, fresh strawberries, and bananas on top—colourful, wholesome, and perfect for a nourishing breakfast or snack.

Storage

The yoghurt parfait can be stored for roughly 3 days when stored in an air-tight container in a fridge. Adding frozen fruit to the parfait may make it more likely to last. If you want to make a parfait in advance, it is probably best to add the fruit on the day that you intend to serve the parfait. This will keep the parfait fresher (and tastier). Personally, as a parfait is so quick to make (and eat), I tend to make it on the day that I eat it!

Additionally, this is just guidance. So, if it looks a bit dodgy, you don’t like the look of it or if it has been out for a while, then unfortunately, I think that is one for the bin. When it comes to cooking and baking a bit of common sense will go a long way. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Additionally, when storing always use an air-tight container, otherwise these times do not apply.
