How To Make The Best Blueberry and Grape Smoothie.
Intro
A new week, a new smoothie recipe! After the popularity of the last smoothie recipe, and seeing as the weather at the moment is so sunny, I am making another smoothie recipe. This week, I am sharing my How To Make The Best Blueberry and Grape Smoothie recipe.
Like my last smoothie recipe, How To Make a Cherry, Strawberry Gluten-Free, Vegan Smoothie, this recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian. My recipe makes 1 serving.
This recipe is a 5 minutes maximum recipe that is very easy to make. Like with the cherry, strawberry version, my blueberry and grape smoothie includes Two of the Five a Day making it a relatively healthy snack.
Enjoy the nice weather and the smoothie!!! ☀️☀️☀️

Tips and Tricks
- Feel free to decorate the smoothie with toppings or sauces. Add toppings like fresh blueberries to make the smoothie that bit extra fruity!!! 🫐🫐🫐
- If you want to make this an oat smoothie, you can always add oats (my preference is granola).
- For this recipe, I used a straw, but really it is up to you/ if you have one available.
- I use a nutribullet as a blender, but please use whatever brand of blender that you have available to you. If you don’t have a blender, you can use a food processor. Ideally, it is best to use a blender. (Disclaimer: everything shown in this article I bought myself, my thoughts and opinions are my own and this is not an advertisement just my honest opinion. Extra Tips and Tricks
- If you want to add honey or golden syrup to sweeten the smoothie, this is an option that is up to you. Personally, I think that adding extra sweetness to the smoothie is unnecessary and may be a bit overpowering, but it is up to you.
- If you want to add vanilla extract to the smoothie, that’s fine and would complement the other ingredients in the drink.
- If you want to enjoy the smoothie with a snack like biscuits, then feel free to do so. If you are looking for a high-quality gluten free cookie recipe perfect for biscuit-dunging then look at my Gluten Free Oat Biscuit/ Cookie Traybake Recipe.
Caveat if you are thinking about modifying ingredients
I am not going to lie. In a simple, 3 ingredients only recipe like this, it would be hard to replace the effect of the recipe if you modify/replaced the ingredients. This is because all the ingredients are important. However, if there is a particular ingredient that you can’t stand/ don’t have AND are okay that the smoothie will taste different to the recipe then substitute out that ingredient. For example, don’t use grape juice if you hate grape juice!!! 🍇🍇🍇
Vanilla Yoghurt or Plain Yoghurt
The yoghurt is essential for this smoothie recipe because it acts as a thickener. As someone who is a big fan of vanilla, I always use vanilla yoghurt. This is because vanilla works well with most (if not all!) fruity flavours. Where or not to use a vanilla yoghurt as opposed to a plain yoghurt, say, is up to you though. If you want the yoghurt to be less sweet (e.g. you want to have it as a breakfast as opposed to a snack or a dessert), then using plain yoghurt may be the most ideal option for you. Overall, using vanilla yoghurt is my personal favourite yoghurt to use in this smoothie recipe.
To Add a Pinch of Salt or to Not to Add a Pinch of Salt
Some people believe that adding a pinch of salt is just what is needed for any dessert. They think adding salt brings out other flavours. A smoothie is no exception!
However, personally I am not a fan of adding salt (even a pinch) to a smoothie. Though, prepare the smoothie with your own preferences in mind.
Ice, ice… maybe? 🧊🧊🧊
Adding ice can help the smoothie stay cooler therefore more refreshing. The smoothie will taste just as good however if you don’t add ice. If you don’t have any or don’t want any ice therefore it is completely fine to leave it. (Note: the only reason that I don’t add ice is that I don’t have any!) 🧊🧊🧊
